AAI Kernel · AI Authority Intelligence
About

We study how AI sees companies and markets.

More and more decisions begin with a question asked to AI. AAI Kernel studies the observable behavior of AI systems around brands, organizations and markets, bringing research, data engineering and analysis together to make that behavior intelligible and useful.

Our specialization

AAI Kernel is a research, engineering and decision-intelligence company. We build a governed evidence base, analyse it with defined methods and explain what it means for a specific organization, market or editorial question, so clients and their agencies can decide and act with confidence.

We investigate how organizations are identified, cited, compared and framed: the roles assigned to them, the sources surrounding them and the questions that change their observed position. Our work connects organization-level detail with the wider structure of a market.

We study the accounts AI systems return about markets under recorded conditions: which organizations they put forward, which they confuse and how descriptions differ across available web-enabled and without-web configurations. These outputs do not reveal pure training memory or hidden selection rules.

We describe this field as AI Authority Intelligence. Visibility is our starting point; authority is our subject: the reference, explanatory and recommendation roles an organization occupies in observed AI answers. The research makes those roles visible and examines their significance.

AI Authority Intelligence is AAI Kernel's field label for investigating how AI systems represent, compare, cite and recommend organizations. It describes the research focus without claiming exclusive ownership of a general field.

Make the evidence useful

An executive needs to understand where attention is warranted. An agency needs a strong diagnosis behind its advice. An editor needs a finding that can be examined and explained.

Our purpose is to connect research depth with those practical needs. We build the evidence, examine the relationships and provide a clear account of what the study establishes and what follows from it.

AAI Kernel and The Observatory

AAI Kernel and The Observatory are independent organizations with distinct responsibilities. AAI Kernel provides governed, traceable intelligence to The Observatory. The Observatory controls the publication and editorial treatment of its content.

Publishers, agencies and organizations can commission AAI Kernel for their own research questions.

The public readings provide one concrete application of AAI Kernel intelligence. Our proprietary methods and private diagnostics remain protected.

The institutional relationship distinguishes AAI Kernel's governed intelligence contribution from The Observatory's responsibility for its own editorial publication. Their outputs and permissions are not interchangeable.

The access and reuse guidance explains why a public editorial reading and a private diagnosis have different permissions even when the research contribution comes from AAI Kernel.

Work with AAI Kernel

We welcome questions that call for a deeper understanding of an organization, a market or the information surrounding it. Tell us what you need to understand and how the research will be used.

For a new investigation intended for readers, the media research pathway explains how to discuss the question, attributable evidence and publishing responsibility.

06 Where this leads

The institutional role is best assessed through the work it proposes and the standards used to examine it. The Authority Constitution connects the definitions, evidence rules and decision guides needed to make that assessment, including how to request supporting evidence or raise a precise challenge.
